Hollywood, FL (Feb. 29, 2024)– A World Poker Tour® Meet-Up Game (MUG) hosted by WPT® Ambassador Brad Owen will open for the upcoming WPT Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown Championship event in South Florida.
“As we prepare to make our 2024 debut at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood, we wanted to plan something special for the festival,” said Adam Pliska, WPT CEO. “The MUG gives players and fans alike the opportunity to meet and play with Brad Owen and get excited for a world class festival of events.”
The MUG is set to commence at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 18, one day prior to Day 1A of the $3,500 Championship event. Owen will spearhead the $2-$5 cash game action and will be accompanied by WPT Executive Tour Director Matt Savage and stalwart WPT commentator Vince Van Patten.
“I’m pumped to return to the world-famous Guitar Hotel for another meet-up game,” Owen said. “Last year’s MUG at the Poker Showdown was a blast and we’re eager to bring back that hype to the Florida crowd for the upcoming SHRPS.”
The WPT Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown begins on April 3 and runs through April 23 with the Championship event occurring April 19-23. Last year’s WPT Championship event drew 2,290 entries, generated a prize pool of $7,328,000, and ultimately saw 2023 WPT Player of the Year Bin Weng claim $1,128,250 and his first WPT title.
Players can use Bravo Poker Live to register for the venue’s MUG.

When and why was the double zero added to the American roulette wheel?
When and why was the double zero added to the American roulette wheel? The double zero was added to the American roulette wheel in the mid-19th century. The exact year is not clear, but it is believed to have been added around the 1860s. The reason for its addition was to increase the house edge, making the game more profitable for the casino. At the time, gambling was not regulated in the United States, and casinos were free to set their own rules and payouts.
